Shipping Times

Original Paintings: You’ll be informed of the shipping schedule; tracking provided once shipped. Keep in mind that: 

Originals can sometimes be displayed in exhibitions before shipping—if you are working with a specific deadline, it’s best to reach out beforehand. 

Customs processing in the US can currently take only a few days up to several weeks, so please plan accordingly.

Art Prints and calendar (made-to-order): 5–10 business days.

Clothing and blankets (made-to-order): 10–30 business days.

 

Packaging

Packaging originals

Up to 80 × 100 cm (approx. 31 × 39 in):
Originals are shipped flat, protected by a wooden backing plate, corner protectors, and bubble wrap to ensure safe transport.

Above 80 × 100 cm:
Originals are removed from the frame, rolled around a plastic or wooden tube, wrapped in bubble wrap, and shipped in a protective tube. These can be stretched and framed locally—feel free to contact a local framer to inquire about costs.

Packaging prints

All prints with a frame are shipped flat-packed. Prints with no frame may be shipped rolled up in a tube depending on the print size.

 

Fees & Import Taxes

Depending on your country, you may be responsible for import taxes, duties, or handling fees. Check local customs regulations to avoid surprises.

Examples original artwork:

US: Fine-art paintings (HS 9701.21) are usually duty-free. State/local sales or use tax may apply (0–15%). A US$ 5,000 painting could incur approx. US$ 0–750 tax.

EU: No customs duties for original artworks.

Australia: GST 10% on imported originals.

Switzerland: Import VAT 8.1%; customs duties often minimal. 

UK: VAT 5%; customs duties usually not applied.

 

These are estimates. Actual charges depend on customs classification, declared For certainty, contact your local customs office or use a third-party duty calculator before ordering.

- After purchase, Lavater Art will contact you to coordinate shipping and provide tracking information.

 

How to Track Your Order

A tracking number will be emailed once your order ships. If you haven’t received it within the typical processing time, contact support@lavaterart.com.
